The Vellora Method at Mata Wellbeing: Facial Sculpting, Buccal, Reiki and Sound Healing

An experience like no other

A deeply somatic facial massage experience

A tight jaw. Shoulders that won’t quite drop. The feeling that even when you’re resting, part of you is still switched on.

The Vellora Method facial at Mata Wellbeing is a deeply somatic facial massage experience, with how you feel at the centre of the treatment. Through skilled touch, breath and moments of stillness, this treatment invites you to notice where you’re holding tension and gives you space to soften and let it go.

What is the Vellora Method?

The Vellora Method brings together facial sculpting and buccal massage, with an understanding of facial anatomy and an attentive approach to touch. Massage extends through the face, jaw, neck and shoulders, adjusting to your comfort and how you respond.

When appropriate, buccal massage with gloved hands inside the mouth gently works through fascia and the cheeks and jaw. This is always optional and included with your consent.

At Mata Wellbeing, I combine this work with my own massage style crafted from years of training with various massage techniques and alternative healing modalities. Breathwork, Reiki, sound healing, gua sha and aromatherapy are all sensory elements of the Mata Wellbeing Experience.

What makes this a somatic experience?

Somatic means relating to the body and your experience of being in it. During this facial, that might mean noticing the pressure of touch, the movement of your breath, or the moment you realise you can let your shoulders drop.

You don’t need to concentrate, clear your mind or make anything happen. I pay attention to your responses, adjusting the pace and pressure so you have room to settle.

Some moments involve focused massage; others are quieter. This rhythm allows you to reconnect with sensation and rest without feeling rushed, allowing you to fully let go.
